Moments come from his real fight record · the effect compares sales (in units) in the 30 days after with those in the 30 days before; the median card is read over 90 days · coincidence does not prove that one causes the other.
The median card, not the median sale. Every card is compared with itself (raw sales only, no slabs): one $100,000 sale of a 1/1 cannot move the line and a flood of cheap base cards cannot sink it. It is the same index we publish on social media.
Spikes = fight nights. Sales rise around every big fight and fall afterwards. Cards are not “worth more”: more people are buying at once.
A reference, not a promise. All of this is the past. Nothing here says what a card will be worth tomorrow; collect what you love, the market is other people's game.
Sources: eBay sold · COMC · only confirmed sales matched to a card in the catalogue · nominal amounts in dollars · graded copies are counted with their grade.
