Ilia Topuria 2024 Topps Finest UFC Rare #282: the base card and every parallel
Card #282 of 2024 Topps Finest UFC is Ilia Topuria's Rare, the top tier of the base set, and here it is in full: we have catalogued 18 versions of that number, from the base to the Superfractor 1/1, with the official odds of every colour in Hobby, Mega and Value. 18 have a photo of the actual copy.
Ilia Topuria is #282 in the base set of 2024 Topps Finest UFC, in the Rare tier, per the official Topps checklist. He shares the tier with Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Alexander Volkanovski. This page does not repeat the set page: it gathers the whole rainbow of that number.
Front: Ilia Topuria standing with his arms crossed, in red UFC shorts, before an Octagon ringed with splashes of colour.
Back: top left, “282 · RARE”; under the name, “Featherweight”. The text recounts his unanimous-decision win over Josh Emmett, with a rare 10-7 round from one judge, 171 of 365 strikes landed and a 6-0 run that set up his first title shot, per the photographed back of our copy.
What a Rare is in Topps Finest
The 2024 Finest UFC base set is 300 cards in three tiers: Common (1 to 100), Uncommon (101 to 200) and Rare (201 to 300), per the official checklist. Rare is the scarce tier: the official odds sheet puts it at 1:3 Hobby packs and 1:6 Mega and Value packs, against one Uncommon per Hobby pack and the Commons that fill the rest.
Each Hobby box brings 2 Rares, per Checklist Insider, a secondary source; that squares with the sheet's 1:3 in a 6-pack box.
In the base set Ilia Topuria has this Rare and one Common, #100; he is not in the 2024 Uncommon tier.
Base: 1:3 in Hobby, 1:6 in Mega and Value. Refractor, unnumbered: 1:25 in Hobby, 1:121 in Mega and 1:240 in Value (1:241 in one of its variants). Checkerboard Refractor, unnumbered: 1:21.
Tangerine /50 and Yellow /75 on the Rare too: so say the catalogue and the secondary sources, and the sheet lists the Tangerine as the harder pull. On the Chaos and Finishers inserts the cards say the opposite.
Here the Rare does not stand out: Shimmers and Glitters carry the same odds and print runs as on the Common. The tier makes its difference on the Hobby ladder.
Rare versus Common: same colour, fewer copies
With print runs from Checklist Insider (secondary) and odds from the official sheet, the same parallel on Common #100 and Rare #282:
Blue Refractor: /200 and 1:11 on the Common; /99 and 1:21 on the Rare. Die-Cut: /75 and 1:27; /25 and 1:81.
Gold: /50 and 1:41; /20 and 1:102. Black: /25 and 1:81; /15 and 1:135. Red: /10 and 1:203; /3 and 1:671. The Superfractor 1/1 falls 1:1,992 in both tiers.
How scarce the #282 gets, in numbers
The fewest copies belong to the Superfractor 1/1, listed among Ilia Topuria SuperFractors; next comes the Red Refractor /3, the shortest numbered card of his whole 2024 base.
With a hundred cards in the tier, the #282 base turns up once every 300 Hobby packs, about 50 boxes; the Red /3 once every 67,100 packs, and the Superfractor once every 199,200. Our estimates from the official sheet, assuming an even split among the hundred.
