Ilia Topuria Dream Chasers #DC-22: 2024 Topps Midnight UFC
In Dream Chasers, the 2024 Topps Midnight UFC insert for fighters on the rise, Ilia Topuria is #DC-22, with a back that stops at his 6-0 UFC start. We have catalogued 3 versions. 3 have a photo of the actual copy.
Dream Chasers: the insert of the fighters on the rise
Dream Chasers is a 30-card insert in 2024 Topps Midnight UFC with names that were climbing at the time: Paddy Pimblett, Bo Nickal, Raul Rosas, Shavkat Rakhmonov, Tom Aspinall and Khamzat Chimaev. Ilia Topuria is #DC-22, per the official Topps checklist. The name is not unique to UFC: in 2023-24 Midnight Bundesliga, Checklist Insider describes its Dream Chasers as “for the rising stars” (secondary source).
What DC-22 shows and what its back says
Front: Ilia Topuria in his stance, gloves up, in front of a blue sphere ringed with dots, diamonds and triangles; “Dream” in chrome letters and “Chasers” in pink script, “Midnight” on top and “Ilia Topuria | Featherweight” at the foot.
Back header: “Featherweight”, “Fighting out of: Alicante, Spain” and his UFC debut, against Youssef Zalal at UFC Fight Night: Moraes vs. Sandhagen.
Back text: on his way to a 6-0 UFC start, he won by first-round KO/TKO in two of his first three bouts, and at UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs. Aspinall he took his first Performance of the Night bonus by beating Jai Herbert.
The back stops short of the title: the card came out in May 2024, three months after he won the featherweight belt at UFC 298, but its text ends at 6-0.
The DC-22 ladder: three rungs
There are three versions, and the official Topps sheet gives the odds of each; since every 2024 Midnight box is a single pack (12 boxes per case, per Checklist Insider, a secondary source), they read as boxes. Alongside, multiplied by the insert's 30 fighters, the DC-22's own odds (our estimate):
No colour, unnumbered: 1:53 (1:1,590). Checklist Insider calls it “short-printed”.
Daybreak /5: 1:176 (1:5,280).
Black Light 1/1: 1:847 (1:25,410).
Dream Chasers or After Hours: which is harder
Per insert, Dream Chasers falls more often (1:53 against 1:64 for After Hours). Per fighter, they fall the same: Dream Chasers is split among 30 and After Hours among 25, so some DC-22 shows up on average once every 1,166 boxes and some AH-19 once every 1,170. Our estimate, with an even split.
The no-colour card would be around 17 copies per fighter, if copies follow the odds: that is the reckoning which, with the Daybreak /5 at 1:176, gives back a single Black Light. Our estimate.
Dream Chasers returned in 2025, without Ilia Topuria
In our list the no-colour version appears as “Refractor” SSP: the sheet calls it simply “Dream Chasers”. The Daybreak is among his /5 numbered cards and the Black Light among his 1/1 cards. His base card of the year is the 2024 Midnight #82.
