A printing plate is the metal plate the card was printed from, cut to card size and inserted in a pack. It is not a reproduction: it is the tool itself.
Unique by definition. A plate cannot be copied, which is why it is numbered 1/1.
Four per card. An image is printed in four-colour process, CMYK: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Each plate carries one colour separation.
Four different objects. Four 1/1 pieces of the same card is no contradiction: each one holds its part of the image.
Ilia Topuria printing plates, by set
We have 15 references catalogued across 4 sets, between 2023 and 2026: twelve individual plates and three booklets.
Goodwin Champions 2023 (Upper Deck): eight plates. Four for base card #73 and four for Splash of Color #124, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black of each. Source: the Goodwin Champions 2023 checklist on e-Pack.
Stadium Club UFC 2026 (Topps): four plates. The CMYK plates for base card #6, at 1:1566 hobby packs on Topps' official odds sheet. That figure covers the whole category, any plate of any base card, and does not guarantee that all four exist: we record them from the checklist, with that caveat.
Metal Universe Champions 2023–2024 (SkyBox): three Printing Plate Booklets. 2023 base card #14, 2023 Fresh Foundation #FF7 and 2024 Stellar Cartography #139, per the Metal Universe checklist on e-Pack.
The AI-recreated plates
Almost no Ilia Topuria printing plate has been seen: nobody has shown, sold or photographed the piece. Of the 15, 13 carry an AI-recreated image: we generated it from the base card of its number, with the photo of Ilia Topuria, and from other fighters' plates, which give the colour and the finish.
They are not photos. These pieces have never been seen: the image shows what they should look like, not a real copy.
The booklets too. Their unfolded faces, outside and inside, are recreations.
They are marked. In the listing they carry a corner mark with “AI”, and their card page says so.
A real photo always wins. As soon as one turns up, it replaces the recreation.
e-Pack and the Printing Plate Booklets
e-Pack is Upper Deck's digital platform: packs are bought and opened online, and anything physical is shipped home. Goodwin Champions is opened in hobby packs and on e-Pack, and its individual plates can come through either.
Metal Universe Champions uses a different format: the Printing Plate Booklet, a single fold-out piece with the plates built in, which does not come from a pack but from e-Pack achievements.
Redeeming them yields one or two booklets at random within their tier, with no choice of fighter.
You do not gather four plates: you receive the whole booklet, which can later change hands.
With and without a photo
“No photo” means there is no photograph of that piece in the catalogue yet. For those, the colour comes from the checklist, not from a piece we have seen. Plates are the extreme end of every rainbow: see the rest of the Ilia Topuria 1/1 cards.
A plate with the AI mark has no photo either: what you see is its recreation.
