Ilia Topuria 2022 Panini Chronicles UFC Rookies #82: the base card and every parallel
Rookies #82 is Ilia Topuria's card in the rookie subset of 2022 Panini Chronicles UFC, from his rookie year, and here it is in every colour: we have catalogued 8 versions, from the base to the Platinum 1/1. 7 have a photo of the actual copy.
Front: two photos, a large one in his stance and a small one on the red side panel, the Chronicles “C” logo on top, the RC rookie logo on the right and “Chronicles” in large letters at the bottom.
Back: on the one we have photographed, “El Matador” survives a tough first round against Jai Herbert at UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs. Aspinall and in the second, after getting inside his reach, knocks him out with a right hook. The text calls him an undefeated lightweight; the bottom strip says Featherweight.
What Chronicles UFC is
A compilation: Panini's official sell sheet presents it with base cards and parallels from more than 20 brands in its catalogue; Chronicles Rookies is the brand's own design for rookies.
Hobby box: 6 packs of 8 cards and 12 boxes per case, with 2 autographs per box on average, per the same sell sheet. Released on 31 August 2022, per Checklistcenter (a secondary source).
The official #82 ladder, from most to fewest copies
Print runs from Panini's official checklist, which match the numbering on our copies. Panini published no odds:
Unnumbered: the base (our “Silver”) and the Bronze.
Numbered: Red /199, Blue /99, Green /99, Purple /49 and Gold /10.
The one-off: the Platinum 1/1.
Complete: no colour from the official #82 checklist is missing from our list.
Which box each colour comes from
Hobby: the Hobby exclusives highlighted in the sell sheet belong to other brands (Gala Rookies /8, Recon, Legacy, Flux), not to Chronicles Rookies.
Panini did not publish which format each Chronicles Rookies parallel comes from; we do not claim it without a source.
Worth knowing
Blue and Green share /99: the same print run in two colours.
His other 2022 Chronicles card is National Treasures #436, a /99 base card with Gold /10 and Platinum 1/1 per the official checklist; it is in the set.
