Ilia Topuria 2022 Panini Chronicles UFC National Treasures #436: the base card and every parallel
Ilia Topuria has two cards in 2022 Panini Chronicles UFC, his rookie year, and National Treasures #436 is the scarce one: even its most common version is numbered /99. We have catalogued 3 versions, up to the Platinum 1/1; 3 have a photo of the actual copy.
Ilia Topuria is #436 in National Treasures, the 30-card run (#431 to #460) of 2022 Panini Chronicles UFC, numbered /99, per Checklistcenter (a secondary source). He shares the design with Amanda Nunes, Francis Ngannou, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Charles Oliveira and Alexander Volkanovski; next to him are Holly Holm (#435) and Israel Adesanya (#437).
Front: Ilia Topuria in black shorts bearing his surname, one hand held out, over a wavy red background inside a white and gold frame; “National Treasures” on top, the serial number under the UFC logo, “Featherweight” below and the RC logo in the corner. Per the photo of our /99 copy.
Back: “Nº 436”, “Featherweight”, the “NT” monogram in the centre and a paragraph presenting him as a featherweight of Georgian heritage who calls Spain home, one of the most sensational additions to his division, a striker always looking for the finish: three knockouts in the four-fight win streak that opened his UFC career.
What National Treasures is inside Chronicles
Chronicles is Panini's compilation set: 500 base cards spread over 25 designs from its brands, each with its own number range, per Checklistcenter. National Treasures is one; Chronicles Rookies (#76 to #100), where Ilia Topuria has #82, is another.
It is not a National Treasures product: it is a Chronicles base card with that design, and the back's footer says so, “2022 Panini – Chronicles National Treasures”.
Hobby box: 6 packs of 8 cards, 12 boxes per case and 2 autographs per box on average, per Panini's official sell sheet; released on August 31, 2022, per Panini.
The #436 ladder
There are just three rungs, all numbered; the print runs come from Checklistcenter (a secondary source) and the stamps on our copies confirm them, but Panini published no odds:
Base /99: “Red/White” on our list, for the colours on the front.
Gold /10.
Platinum 1/1.
The print runs add up to 110 copies of the #436.
What gets mixed up
There is no unnumbered #436: the most common version already carries /99, unlike the Rookies #82, with an unnumbered base and Bronze.
It is not an autograph or a patch: Ilia Topuria is in none of the 2022 Chronicles autograph sets, per the Checklistcenter checklist; his other card in the product is the Rookies #82 base.
It is a rookie-year base card with the RC logo: what counts as his rookie card is explained in Ilia Topuria rookie cards.
