Ilia Topuria Splash of Color #124: 2023 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions
We have catalogued 8 versions of Ilia Topuria's Splash of Color #124, the short print from the 2023 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions base set. 4 have a photo of the actual copy.
Design: Ilia Topuria in his fighting stance over a background of coloured circles, with the “Splash of Color” wordmark running vertically and the RC logo.
Not to be confused with the Splash of Color Platinum #SCP-89, the chromium version of the same design, or with the 3-D Lenticular #SCL-IT, which is a different card.
Which box Splash of Color comes from, and how often
Blaster: 1:3 packs for any of the 50, per the Upper Deck store, which also promises 3 Splash of Color per box on average. A blaster holds 7 packs of 5 cards plus a bonus pack.
e-Pack: 1:5, per the official e-Pack odds. On e-Pack the base set is digital, but the 50 Splash of Color cards are physical, the same page says.
Hobby: Upper Deck does not publish the figure on its site. Checklistcenter, a secondary source, gives 1:4.5 packs and four Splash of Color per 18-pack box.
With 50 names, Ilia Topuria's card turns up on average once every 150 blaster packs, 250 e-Pack packs or about 225 hobby packs. That is our estimate, assuming an even split among the fifty.
The versions of #124
Neon Green: this is the “Neon Variations – Splash of Color” family, 1:1,120 e-Pack packs per the official odds, with 45 cards on the e-Pack checklist. For Ilia Topuria that works out at about 1:50,400 packs: our estimate. Reading our “Neon Green” as that variation is our interpretation of the name.
Royal Blue and Gold: not pack pulls. They are e-Pack rewards for combining copies, with the option of having the physical card shipped: Royal Blue for 5 identical Splash of Color cards; Gold by combining Royal Blues, per the e-Pack Exclusives tab. That text repeats “5 copies of any individual Splash of Color card” in the Gold rule, so the exact Gold recipe is ambiguous.
Printing Plates 1/1: cyan, magenta, yellow and black, one of each; they appear as Splash of Color plates numbered 1 of 1 in the e-Pack odds and are part of Ilia Topuria printing plates.
Worth knowing
Ilia Topuria's base #73 is one of the 100 regular cards; #124 is his short print, which is why it falls less often. The blaster bonus pack holds four Turquoise parallels of the regular cards (#1–100), per the Upper Deck store: it is not where #124 turns up.
