Ilia Topuria 2023 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions #73: the base card and every parallel
#73 is Ilia Topuria's base card in 2023 Goodwin Champions, his first Upper Deck set, and here it is in every version: we have catalogued 13, from the base to the 1/1 printing plates. 11 have a photo of the actual copy.
Ilia Topuria is #73 of the 100 regular cards in the base set of 2023 Goodwin Champions, which reaches 150 with the 50 Splash of Color cards, per the Upper Deck store. In the official e-Pack checklist he is among the 75 vertical cards; the other 25 are horizontal.
Front: in his stance, shirtless, with the crowd behind him, the Goodwin Champions banner on top and the word ROOKIE next to his name.
Back: on the one we have photographed, the Purple, 5'7" and 146 lbs, born 21 January 1997 in Halle (Westphalia), and a text about his lightweight debut on 19 March 2022, when he put Jai Herbert to sleep with a right hook in round two to go 12-0. The Blank Backs we have photographed has a blank back.
The base: our list calls it “Light Blue”; no checklist we have seen has a parallel by that name.
Blaster bonus pack: Turquoise, four per bonus pack of the North American Blaster (4:1, Upper Deck store); Orange, four per Mega Blaster bonus pack, and Lucky Red, four per China Blaster bonus pack, per Checklistcenter (secondary). None is numbered. With 100 regular cards, Ilia Topuria's Turquoise turns up in one Blaster out of 25 on average: our estimate.
e-Pack rewards: the Royal Blue, by combining 10 copies of the same digital base card, and the Gold, by combining 10 Royal Blues, with the option to have the physical card shipped, per the e-Pack Exclusives tab.
Purple and Blank Backs: they are in the official e-Pack checklist, but Upper Deck does not explain on the product page how they are obtained.
Black & White: the black-and-white variation, 1:1,120 e-Pack packs for any of its 45 cards, per the official odds and the e-Pack checklist. For Ilia Topuria, about 1:50,400 packs: our estimate.
Printing Plates 1/1: cyan, magenta, yellow and black, one of each, in Hobby and e-Pack per Checklistcenter and the e-Pack odds.
Which box it comes from
Hobby: 18 packs of 5 cards, with at least 2 hits, 4 Splash of Color and 6 Platinum parallels per box, per Checklistcenter (secondary).
Blaster: 7 packs of 5 cards and a bonus pack with the four Turquoise cards, per the Upper Deck store.
e-Pack: the base set is digital; the 50 Splash of Color cards are physical, says the e-Pack page.
Worth knowing
#73 is the regular card; its short print is the Splash of Color #124 and the chrome version with the base design is the Platinum #P49.
The Black & White does not say ROOKIE on the front; the versions we have checked in photos with the word are among Ilia Topuria rookie cards.
